We Honor Veterans

Center for Hospice Care is proud to be part of the “We Honor Veterans” program, a collaboration between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Alliance for Care at Home. The program is focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment. By recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families, community providers will learn how to accompany and guide them through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.

Center for Hospice Care integrates veteran-specific content into our staff and volunteer orientation and education. We have also developed veterans memorials at our Mishawaka campus as well as at our affiliate organization, Milton Village. Center for Hospice Care is proud to have been recognized by the Department of Defense as a 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemorative Partner.

Center for Hospice Care is always looking for veteran volunteers as well. Our Vet-to-Vet volunteers receive specialized training that allow for veterans a special opportunity to care for other veterans during end of life.
