Certified Hospice & Palliative Nurses and Nursing Assistants
Home / Certified Hospice & Palliative Nurses and Nursing Assistants
An important part of serving patients at end-of-life is specifically mastering the physical and psychosocial skillset to be able to aid family members of a dying patient as well as recognize specific symptoms that may fall upon the patient themselves, even if they can not express them. A Certified Hospice & Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification is specifically offered to experienced nurses and was designed to test a candidate’s ability to successfully provide hospice and palliative care to patients. Center for Hospice Care has 15 CHPN, two of which are also certified specifically in pediatrics as well (CHPPN).
There is also the CHPNA certification designed for experienced hospice and palliative nursing assistants, which CHC has four, that also teach the skillset of aiding the patient at end-of-life.
