Looking for a great place to volunteer? Here is a listing of some current volunteer opportunities that are available!


 

Entire Service Area

  • Willingness to Travel If you are willing to travel across our service area, we may need you! Center for Hospice Care covers a large area and we need individuals who are willing to go to our farthest corners to meet the needs of our patients and families.

  • Spanish Speaking Volunteers We may have many patients and families who would greatly benefit and find comfort in volunteers who can speak their heart language. We are seeking Spanish Speaking Volunteers for our entire service area.

Elkhart Office (Elkhart, LaGrange and Kosciusko Counties)

  • Patient Home Visitors Patient Home Visitors are so invaluable to hospice patients because they provide respite for hardworking caregivers as well as friendly companionship to the patients. Patient Home Visitors visit with families and patients in their own home. Visits may include talking, personal care, playing cards or making a light lunch. Also willing to travel to Wakarusa, Nappanee, Goshen and Middlebury a plus!
  • Patient Home Assistance Something as simple as light housekeeping, dishes, laundry or vacuuming can mean so much to patients and families who are stretched so thin.
  • Hair Stylist/Barber Use your gifts to bless others. We need licensed hair stylists and/or barbers to provide hair care to patients in their home setting.
  • Massage Therapist Use your gifts to bless others. We need licensed massage therapists to provide massages to patients in their home setting.
  • Inpatient Unit Volunteers Interact with patients, families and Center for Hospice Care staff by providing care for patients in our seven-bed-inpatient care unit. Our beautiful inpatient care unit is warm and inviting and allows volunteers to be involved in a variety of tasks. Inpatient shifts may be sporadic nature, depending on the currents needs at the facility.

South Bend Office (St. Joe County)

  • Patient Home Visitors Patient Home Visitors are so invaluable to hospice patients because they provide respite for hardworking caregivers as well as friendly companionship to the patients. Patient Home Visitors visit with families and patients in their own home. Visits may include talking, personal care, playing cards or making a light lunch.

South Bend and Mishawaka, Weekdays 9am - 5pm and Weekends

  • Patient Home Assistance Something as simple as light housekeeping, dishes, laundry or vacuuming can mean so much to patients and families who are stretched thin
  • Hair Stylist/Barber Use your gifts to bless others. We need licensed hair stylists and/or barbers to provide hair care to patients in their home setting.
  • Therapy Trained Pet Visitors for ECF's Pets volunteer too! We are in need of pet visitors (certified therapy dogs) to visit extended care facility patients in the South Bend and Mishawaka areas.

Plymouth Office (Marshall, LaPorte, Fulton, Starke Counties)

  • Patient Home Visitors Patient Home Visitors are so invaluable to hospice patients because they provide for hardworking caregivers as well as friendly companionship to the patients. Patient Home Visitors visit with families and patients in their own home. Visits may include talking, personal care, playing cards or making a light lunch. 

Plymouth, Argos, Rochester, Bremen and La Porte areas. Looking for weekdays, evenings and weekends for all visit volunteers.

  • Extended Care Facility Visits If you would love to provide a smile and companionship to a hospice patient, become an Extended Care Facility Volunteer. Volunteers visit hospice patients who reside in extended care facilities (i.e. nursing homes, assisted living facilities, etc.).

Plymouth and La Porte area. Looking for weekdays, evenings and weekends for all visit volunteers.

  • Office Volunteers If you have clerical skills and a bit of extra time, consider becoming an Office Volunteer. Tasks may include filing, data entry, photocopying, collating, mailings and binding forms or booklets.

Plymouth and La Porte Area

  • Hospitality Volunteers Families and patients on our care are often overwhelmed. Hospitality Volunteers make short visits to offer a friendly smile and deliver a small care package.

La Porte Area

  • Hair Stylist/Barber Use your gifts to bless others. We need licensed hair stylists and/or barbers to provide hair care to patients in their home setting.
